I Haven't posted in a while because My Vulkano has been working pretty well with the new Firmware and software so I'd thought I's say Hi.

Our family is now pretty happy with how well our Vulkano is working.  Ever since the fine programmers added the features to let us watch TV on more than one PC at a time and also let us record while watching remotely at the same time.

Kudos to all involved in getting these features working.  Now we can say we love the Vulkano products much more then the Sl"##ng.

Thanks again.

Am I missing anything? What firmware/software allow user to use multiple PC access to the Vulkano same time? It will be great, even multiple player on same LAN is fine. Off course, all watch same channel thought.

I've always been able to do this, but don't know how long the capability has been there. If you have the latest player/firmware, there shouldn't be an issue. I'm streaming Wifi to iPhone4 and local LAN to PC simultaneously.Cool

dtsexpert,

For over a year myself and many others were upset that.  Every time we tried to record a program and then tried to access the vulkano from our PC's.  A screen would be displayed telling us something like can not strem video while recording is in progress.

The old HAVA boxes let us stream to more than one PC at a time.  So we were kind of upset the Vulkano did not let us do this at the time of its release.

Anyway.  This was one of the most annoying issues we had with the Vulkano.  We kept getting told for many months that they are looking into this.  Then Finally.  I forget which FW software version upgrade.  But then we were able to stream to more than one PC iincluding our IPAD on our home. network and also watch streams while recoding was going on.

Really the only other thing we have been asking for since day one now.  Is some sort of LINUX application.

Otherwise we think the Vulkano is a cool device and you can't beat the price for what it can do.Cool

Thankyou

This is odd for my Flow, that has the latest firmware on it, 805, 26, Flow2. Still I can only connect 1 device at a time to it although all devices are on same LAN.

PC/ Iphone player are latest version as well.

Really would love to get multiple devices conntected to the Flow.

I'll send email to the tech support later

thanks

Thanks for the reply dtsexpert!

I've actually been doing this (multiple streaming) with a Lava I have, although the FAQ's doesn't specify that capability is limited to the Lava/Blast, so you may be on to something.  I just tried multiple users on one of my Flows (same firmware as you…and up to date) and as they say 'you are correct, sir!'  When I tried to connect via Wifi and PC simultaneously, I was denied access on the second device.  Will wait to hear what you find out from Monsoon.

Thanks again!

Phil,

Tech suggested to disconnect the Table/Iphone, then try multiple PC/Laptop connected to the Flow. Still same error..only able to connect one device at a time.

This is what I find out. When you run the Setup Wizard, go to the Advance, then select Info, select the tab General, it states:

Max local clients: unlimited

Max local remote: 1

This mean Vulkano does allow us to use multiple Local devices access to the unit. Somehow it does not work for me.

Phil,

Just got off the phone with the tech support, the solution is all the devices and the Vulkano have to be on the same router to make this work (multiple devices access the vulkano at once)

I have not reconfigured my setting yet…just wanna post the solution here.

In short, having multiple devices access to the Vulkano only works locally, meaning devices/vulkano on same LAN same router.

If you stream remotely, for sure there is only one device able to access to the Vulkano at a time.

It will be great if Monsoon have this on the FAQ, clarifying that having multiple devices access to the Vulkano only works locally, requirement is that all devices/vulkano are on same router

Streaming remotely (not same LAN), only one device able to connected to the Vulkano at a time.

That's interesting, seeing I only have one router….. I'll wait to see if you get your setup working, although I don't have any need to use two locally. That said, I have no issue with more than one on my Lava, but do with the Flow….  It's also interesting to note that based upon this FAQ (below), I should be able to connected locally with more than one PC to my Flow, but not my Lava.  However, I'm able to connect with two (2) local clients only to my Lava, or a Wifi client and local PC simultaneously to the Lava…

Flow 192.168.1.21

Lava 192.168.1.23  (Has 49177 & 56123 ports set in my router)

In my case, my router doesn't assign the IP's, mine are static….

Q: I want to Add Second Vulkano in my Network, how can I do it?

A: In order to set up Second Vulkano Unit in a Single Network, you have to configure One Vulkano Unit at one Point of time. Your first Vulkano Unit should not be plugged to the power source during the basic Configuration. Once you configure your Second Vulkano Unit, you can Plug in the first Vulkano unit as well.

However, only one Vulkano can be seen as Local Vulkano unit. It depends on the IP Address assigned to your Vulkano devices by your Network Router. For example if the IP Address Assigned to one of your Vulkano is 192.168.1.15 and the IP Address assigned to your other Vulkano is 192.168.1.16, in this case the Vulkano with .15 IP address will be seen as the Local Vulkano as per the IP Stack.

Now to make your preferred Vulkano as your First Vulkano, you need to disconnect the other Vulkano for a While, Reboot your Router then the Vulkano which is connected to it, it will rearrange the IP address. You can then Turn on other Vulkano as well.
